Architect, Application Systems

Summary of Duties:

• Designs system solutions that meet requirements.
• Provides proposals for solutions to deliver business outcomes.
• Designs sweeping applications that impact environments within their team.
• Recognizes areas of improvement in the development lifecycle and recommends action plans.
• Creates, reviews, and develops software throughout the team’s environment and effectively communicates the rationale behind the designs.
• Designs modifications to existing software, designs reusable components, and eliminates redundancy in designs throughout their team’s environment.
• Drives design consensus within the team while maintaining awareness with other teams.
• Develops and delivers technical training and business understanding for developers.
• Drives efficient resolution for system outages as well as performance and functional shortcomings.
• Engages in critical support situations and effectively, efficiently, and quickly drives to successful resolutions.
• Investigates new technologies and techniques, and researches ongoing industry developments through a partnership with the Enterprise Architecture team.
• Evaluates the ROI of systems development and enhancements to the Enterprise environment and effectively weighs the financial alternatives involved with various technical solutions and proposals.
• Partners with Enterprise Architects to assist Leadership with the forecasting of technology implementation budgets.
• Assists in the budget process to identify the Total Cost of Ownership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field of study AND Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must also have demonstrated experience with the following: Developing long term application plans; Communicating architectural standards and best practices; Delivering a project to completion; Comparing and contrasting alternative approaches to meet objectives while assessing risk both quantitatively and qualitatively; Evaluating long term impacts when making recommendations and decisions; Implementing solutions within Azure or Salesforce; Implementing or integrating with Salesforce.com in a large-scale, enterprise environment using enterprise patterns and separation of concerns; Technology systems including system design, API design, databases and programming concepts; and Integration within the Salesforce space (REST, SOAP, or ESB).
