This role requires onsite working 5 days per week at the client site. Hybrid or remote working is not available.

Candidates must hold current HLC clearance or be eligible and willing to obtain it, depending on client requirements. Experience in government, defence, or highly regulated environments is highly desirable.

Role Overview

As an IT Asset Management (ITAM) Engineer, you will manage the full lifecycle of IT assets across the organisation, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and optimisation of hardware and software resources.

You will work closely with IT Operations, Security, Procurement, Finance, and external vendors to maintain governance, reduce cost, and improve asset efficiency.

You will also help develop and improve ITAM processes, standards, and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end IT asset lifecycle (procurement to disposal)
• Maintain accurate hardware and software asset inventories
• Ensure software licence compliance and manage renewals
• Conduct audits, reconciliations, and asset reporting
• Support procurement, forecasting, purchasing, and deployment processes
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve asset utilisation
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams on governance standards
• Develop and improve ITAM policies, procedures, and controls
• Produce KPI reporting and asset analytics for decision-making
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve ITAM maturity

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), or IT operations
• Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management principles
• Experience managing hardware inventories and software licensing
• Experience with procurement and vendor management
• Familiarity with ITSM/ITAM tools (e.g. ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune)
• Strong analytical and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in complex or regulated environments

Clearance & Security Requirements

• Must work onsite 5 days per week (no remote/hybrid option)
• Must hold HLC clearance or be eligible and willing to obtain it
• Prior experience in government, defence, or secure environments is highly desirable
