We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist
In this role, you will:
- Partner with Product Owners/Business SMEs to clarify BRD scope, confirm acceptance criteria, and agree MVP/stories and delivery milestones.
- Align early with Architects and Solution Analysts on target design, integration impacts, and non-functional requirements (performance, resilience, security).
- Engage upstream/downstream application teams (Vision PLUS modules, interfaces) to manage dependencies, cutover needs, and end-to-end testing coverage.
- Coordinate with QA/UAT stakeholders to plan test strategy, environments, data needs, defect triage, and sign-offs.
- Work closely with Change/Release/Operations teams to plan deployments, implementation runbooks, rollback approach, and post-release validation.
- Lead incident/crisis-call communications with Service Management and business stakeholders, providing clear status, ETA, and business impact updates.
- Manage vendor/third-party stakeholders (if applicable) for product constraints, patches, and roadmap alignment impacting FAS changes.
- Provide transparent reporting to programme/project leadership on estimates, risks/issues, decisions required, and progress against plan.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Deep domain experience in credit card processing and complex banking platforms, with 12+ years across development and BAU maintenance.
- Strong VisionPLUS product knowledge with hands-on delivery in core modules (FAS, CMS,ITS, TRAMS) and end-to-end authorisation processing.
- Mainframe Tech SME across COBOL, CICS,VSAM JCL and Eztrieve, including batch/online design, performance tuning, and structured debugging.
- Proven capability with mainframe DevOps/release toolchains (Endevor, Changeman, schedulers), plus job monitoring, abend analysis, and controlled deployments.
- Strong authorisation functional/technical knowledge: scheme flows (Visa/Mastercard/Amex), routing/decisioning, response codes, stand-in, and scheme controls.
- Working knowledge of message standards (ISO 8583/ISO 20022) and TCP/IP communication frameworks used in authorisation integrations,Hands-on experience with critical authorization scheme control programs, including OFOVCTLO, OFOMCTL, OFOACTL, OFOMISO, OFOVISO, OFOVCTCP, OFOMTCPetc
- Broader payments expertise including EMV/chip processing, clearing & settlement/file processing, disputes, and security/compliance (PCI DSS v4.0.x awareness).
- Familiarity with modern payments capabilities and tooling: digital wallets/tokenisation concepts (Apple/Google/Samsung Pay; TAR/ACN/TCN/TVN) and Agile/DevOps delivery using Jira/Confluence.
