Join Barclays as a Data Security Project Manager to lead large, complex projects within the Data Security programme, a high-visibility initiative focused on strengthening secure data capabilities and meeting evolving regulatory expectations. This role sits within the secure data workstream, delivering a wide range of initiatives including DLP controls, DSPM implementation, new security tooling rollouts, and enhancements to existing platforms. You will oversee multiple concurrent deliverables, working closely with a large contractor base and a lean leadership team to ensure successful execution. Acting as a key driver of change delivery, you will coordinate across stakeholders, manage priorities, track progress, and navigate technical blockers, bringing a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. With programmes ranging from a major DSPM transformation to portfolios of 2–3 parallel projects, this role requires strong task ownership, clear communication, and the right attitude to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale projects.
  • Solid background in technology project delivery.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience in cyber security and/or data-related projects.
  • Line management experience.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches.
  • Experience delivering projects related to operational risk and regulatory requirements.

Purpose of the role

Focused on delivering individual projects, ensuring completion within scope, time, and budget with a more immediate focus. 

Accountabilities

  • Scope Management: Manages a single project with specific, defined objectives, deadlines, and deliverables. Their focus is on completing the project on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Strategic Focus: Operates more tactically, focusing on day-to-day management of resources, schedules, and deliverables for their individual project.
  • Time Horizon: Works with a shorter, more defined timeframe as projects have a set beginning and end.
  • Stakeholder Management: Primarily manages stakeholders related to their specific project, ensuring communication and expectations are clear for the project’s deliverables.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Focuses on risks and issues specific to their project and works to mitigate them within the project’s scope.
  • Resource Management: Manages resources for their individual project, ensuring that the project team has the necessary skills, tools, and time to complete the work.
  • Financial Management: Focuses on managing the budget of their specific project, ensuring it is completed within the financial constraints.
  • Metrics: Measures success based on the timely completion of project deliverables within scope, time, and budget.
  • Change Management: Manages changes that directly impact their specific project, including scope changes, timelines, or resource allocation adjustments.
