We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer
In this role, you will
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites across UI and API layers, aligned to the test pyramid and quality engineering best practices.
- Build and execute automation using Java (8+), Playwright (Java), REST-assured, and TestNG (or equivalent test runners).
- Develop and enhance reusable automation frameworks (Page Object Model, utilities, test data management, reporting).
- Implement robust API validations including response assertions, contract checks, and JSON schema validation.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation execution and quality gates using Maven and Jenkins pipelines (or equivalent tooling).
- Work closely with developers, BAs, and product teams to refine acceptance criteria, define test scenarios, and support shift-left testing (TDD/BDD mindset where applicable).
- Support validation of platform integrations such as event/message flows (Kafka) and data checks (MongoDB/other stores) where required.
- Use Git/GitHub (or equivalent) for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of test practices, stability, and execution speed.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
- 2–6 years of hands-on experience in test automation / quality engineering.
- Strong programming fundamentals in Java (8+) with solid understanding of OOP.
- Practical experience with:
- Playwright (Java) for UI automation (or strong UI automation experience with ability to ramp up quickly)
- REST-assured for API automation
- TestNG/JUnit for test orchestration
- Maven/Gradle for build and execution
- Allure / Extent Reports (or similar) for reporting and insights
- Good understanding of STLC, test design techniques, and risk-based testing.
- Experience with CI/CD and source control tools (Jenkins, Git/GitHub).
- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures using logs, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with distributed teams.
- Good problem solving ability and "can do" attitude
Preferred (nice to have):
- Exposure to Selenium/Playwright/TestNG or other automation tools and frameworks.
- Experience in banking / contact centre / enterprise platform testing (WPB domain exposure is a plus).
- Familiarity with Agile/SAFe ways of working.
- Relevant testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are an advantage.
