About Fluent

Every business's relationship with data will radically change once every decision-maker has all their data at their fingertips.

Fluent allows business leaders to get the answers they need from data by asking in plain English, freeing up data teams to focus on more important tasks.

We help our customers answer questions like:

  • Which artists achieved more than 100 million streams over the last year?

  • How many donations did our charity receive last month?

  • Which of our customers are about to churn?

We recently raised a $7.5M investment round and work with brands like Bain & Co., NBC Universal, and many other blue-chip companies.

👋 How we work

We’re a small team of elite builders revolutionising the business intelligence market.

We believe a small team of amazing people can outperform the average team of many.

What sets us apart is not just what we do but how we do it.

Here’s what makes our team a unique and rewarding place to work:

  • Self-driven: When we see a problem or something to improve we make it happen. We don't wait for permission or need to map out every possible edge case to do it.

  • Trusting and independent: We have the freedom to try things our way. We trust each other to do what works best for them and expect them to experiment with new tools and methods to maximise output.

  • Collaborative and supportive: When stuck, we’re quick to support each other and draw out the problem on a whiteboard to resolve it. We are there as a sounding board whenever needed.

People who appreciate this working style will have the highest chance of success at Fluent. Please see our careers page for more about life at Fluent.

🧐 What will you be doing?

We’re hiring an Analytics Engineer, reporting to our Head of Operations, to work closely with our Customer Success team to onboard new clients on to Fluent.

You will help set up our clients, modelling their data into a well-structured format our AI can understand. This is a crucial factor in the success of any BI tool, including Fluent, and is core to our success.

You will:

  • Model client data: In a way that works well with the Fluent semantic layer.

  • Onboard new clients: Collaborate with our Customer Success team to set up and configure the Fluent platform for new clients during two-week pilots.

  • Suggest improvements to our semantic layer engine: You’ll work with our product team to work out ways to support more complex questions for our clients within the Fluent platform.

  • Support clients’ ongoing needs: Supporting customers with data modelling needs to help them get the most out of Fluent.

And plenty more as we continue to learn from our customers.

🤟🏼 You’d be a great fit if you

  • Have strong data modelling skills: You have experience working with tools like dbt.

  • Have strong SQL skills: You are at home wrangling databases and getting data out of them.

  • Are driven: You want to achieve something spectacular and make an impact with your skills.

  • Can act autonomously: You’ll take ownership of client onboarding and use your initiative to drive successful implementations.

  • Are customer-focused: You’re keen to deeply understand our clients and ensure they get the most value from our platform.

  • Think from first principles: You’re able to tackle problems where there are no well-established best practices.

  • Are collaborative: You work well with cross-functional teams, particularly with Customer Success and Commercial teams.

  • Love the speed of startups: You are excited to work in a startup environment with quick iterations.

  • Are action-biased: You move fast, often running quick-and-dirty experiments to test ideas.

  • Want to work in office: This is an in-person position in London at our office in Holborn.

💻 Technologies

Fluent supports clients who use the following data warehouses: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, and Postgres.

You will use Snowflake and dbt to model data for clients, and the Fluent Semantic Layer to expose metrics and dimensions to the Fluent AI.

💰 What we’re offering

  • A competitive salary with pension.

  • A generous stock option package.

  • Weekly company-provided lunch, and meals after 19:30.

  • Fun and engaging office.

  • Working on an unsolved, massively valuable software problem with some of the best people you’ll ever have worked with.

  • High-quality hardware.
