As an Electrical System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for executing electrical engineering projects for complex power generation and moto-compression trains, Acting as a unique entry point for the Customer, starting from the bidding phase up to the train commissioning and start-up, taking the lead during the overall project phases.
As an Electrical System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Performing a technical selection of all electrical items in the scope of supply (e.g., Electrical MV generators, Electrical MV motor, & DCP/MCC, Batteries etc.) or Operation/Maintenance experience preferably in a power generation plant.
- Specifing the motor / VFD sets for electric motor-driven compressor applications, in accordance with internal design practices and the project/customer technical specifications.
- Verifying that the design proposed by the supplier(s) is compliant with technical specifications, drawings/documents exchanged and also participating in the technical meetings with Suppliers and customers.
- Knowing the operation and working philosophy of MV Variable Speed Drive Systems.
- Formulating functional purchase specifications and close technical alignment of supplier technical proposals
- Managing technical documentation during the engineering development phase following up with supplier and customer up to finalization.
- Carrying out engineering design reviews with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with customer contractual specifications and project-applicable international technical regulations.
- Taking delivery of the equipment by participating in the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Engaging in the troubleshooting and the root cause analysis of electrical systems malfunction during FAT or on-site, definition and implementation of short-term and long-term corrective actions, and evaluation of fleet impact.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering Or similar with proven expertise in Electrical disciplines in Oil and Gas Equipment
- Have proven experience in Design or Operation/Maintenance (Electrical items) of a minimum of 4 years.
- Have substantial technical knowledge of electrical item design and selection, e.g., rotating machines, and MV/LV panels.
- Have demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams within a global-matrix environment.
- Have experience in problem-solving, with an analytical approach to identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Have the ability to influence others & to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Have fluency in English and good oral and written communication skills.
- Have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
