Description

Emerson is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our East Granby, CT location. In this role, you will perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including extrusion lines, payoffs, take-ups, ovens, ink jet printers, braiders, hoppers, and pumps
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Calibrate critical equipment and measuring devices to maintain accuracy
  • Conduct facility safety checks and inspections
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
  • Coordinate with external service providers when needed
  • Follow established maintenance procedures and recommend updates for improvement
  • Design and build basic fixtures to support production needs
  • Communicate clearly with managers, supervisors, and team members
  • Partner with engineering on machine upgrades and new equipment installations
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E)
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area
  • Prioritize and manage time effectively to complete critical tasks

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in plant or industrial maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Hands-on experience repairing mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, crouching, twisting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Technical or vocational degree
  • Forklift operating experience
  • Familiarity with 5S or Lean Manufacturing principles
