Emerson, a global leader in custom-designed control valves, is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to join our Marshalltown, Iowa team. This role offers the opportunity to improve manufacturing processes used to machine and fabricate critical valve components while supporting a world-class manufacturing operation.

As an Industrial Engineer, you will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to solve manufacturing challenges, implement new manufacturing processes, and support the development and implementation of process improvements. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing methods to reduce cost and strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Research new manufacturing technologies and recommend capital improvement projects.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Participate in design reviews with product development and design teams to ensure efficient, capable, and scalable production methods.
  • Collaborate with vendors to define product specifications, source equipment, materials, and components, and evaluate them against quality and performance standards.
  • Estimate production times, staffing needs, and related costs to support management decision‑making.
  • Partner with management, design engineering, and cross‑functional teams on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and process improvements.
  • Implement engineering changes and new process introductions into the manufacturing system in a timely and effective manner.
  • Use CAD/CAM and CNC machining programs to help optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Apply statistical methods to assess and improve manufacturing process capability.
  • Develop clear work instructions and tooling documentation to support production teams.
  • Support production departments by troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • At least 5 years of experience programming CNC machines using G and M codes, as well as experience with CNC programming software such as Edge Cam, Mastercam, etc.
  • Experience supporting machining, and fabrication operations in a high‑mix manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting new process introductions and capital equipment projects.
