Description

We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor machining equipment to produce high-quality components that meet defined specifications and tolerances. This role is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials and machine setups, verifying product quality, and ensuring efficient, safe manufacturing operations. The CNC Machine Operator works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand part requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Set up CNC machines by selecting and securing fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials.
  • Measure, mark, and prepare materials for machining operations.
  • Start and monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, making adjustments to machine controls as needed.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Verify first-piece quality before proceeding with production runs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience or formal training in CNC machine setup and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM equipment.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and dimensional verification.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during a work shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with varying environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Technical certification or Associate degree in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or laser cutting equipment.
  • Experience operating and programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Knowledge of metallurgical properties, materials science, or related coursework.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
