Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Dynamics 365 F&O Functional Consultant to work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver high-quality D365 F&O solutions.
The role involves gathering and analysing business requirements, translating them into detailed functional specifications, configuring the application, supporting UAT, conducting end-user training, and preparing comprehensive system documentation.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of D365 Operations modules and the business processes they enable, allowing them to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform and Azure DevOps will be highly beneficial.
Qualifications
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document functional requirements.
- Map business processes to Dynamics 365 F&O capabilities, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications for technical and development teams.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Configure D365 F&O modules to support production control, warehouse management, master planning, inventory management/quality control related business processes.
- Work closely with developers and architects to ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and best practices.
- Support the integration of Microsoft Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) where applicable.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios with stakeholders.
- Validate test results, ensuring deliverables meet business expectations and quality standards.
- Assist in defect management and retesting processes via Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
Training & Documentation
- Conduct end-user training sessions to facilitate smooth adoption of new solutions.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive system documentation, including process flows, configuration guides, and user manuals.
- Provide post-implementation support to ensure successful solution adoption.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key liaison between business teams, developers, and external vendors/partners.
- Communicate technical details in business-friendly language to support informed decision-making.
Participate in project planning, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement using Azure DevOps.
Essential experience & skills
- Around 3 years proven experience as a Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of D365 F&O modules and their underlying business processes, ideally across:
- Production Control
- Warehouse Management
- Master Planning
- Inventory Management/Quality Control
- Hands-on experience in requirements gathering, solution configuration, UAT coordination, and training delivery.
- Ability to produce clear, detailed functional specifications and process documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) for extending D365 F&O capabilities.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, testing, and collaboration.
- Exposure to integration scenarios between D365 F&O and other business applications.
