JOB DESCRIPTION

You enjoy shaping the future of product innovation as a core leader, driving value for customers, guiding successful launches, and exceeding expectations. Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality products that resonate with clients. You will help deliver capabilities that improve metadata standards, governed access workflows, and operational efficiency to enable AI-ready, well-governed data. You will collaborate across product, technology, and risk/control stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and compliant by design. You will lead discovery, define requirements, and partner with design and engineering to launch and iterate solutions with measurable outcomes.

As a Product Manager in Consumer Community Banking Data Governance Product Team, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. Success in this role includes improving adoption of governance workflows and delivering measurable reductions in cycle time, rework, or access friction while meeting governance and control requirements.

The Data Governance Product Manager is responsible for modernizing and streamlining data governance by improving metadata standards, increasing operational efficiency, accelerating data access, and enhancing AI-readiness — enabling the business to leverage high-quality, well-governed data for advanced analytics and innovation. A Product Manager for the Data Governance Product will contribute to product strategy and roadmap development for an assigned area product by leading discovery, defining requirements, and partnering with design and technology teams to deliver prioritized capabilities. This role engages internal customers, conducts market and user research, supports product positioning and value communication, and drives alignment across a matrixed environment using strong technical fluency and communication skills.

 Job responsibilities
  • Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
  • Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
  • Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
  • Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
  • Engage users and stakeholders to understand needs, pain points, and workflows; translate insights into seamless, user-centric experiences and measurable outcomes
  • Use customer, market, and performance insights to influence area-product strategy and quarterly objectives/OKRs; support prioritization of the roadmap and backlog aligned to business goals. Identify and prioritize use cases; own requirements for assigned scope (PRDs/epics/stories, user journeys, acceptance criteria); manage refinement, prioritization recommendations, and dependencies with partner teams.
  • Partner with engineering/design to deliver capabilities end-to-end (planning, testing/UAT, release readiness, post-launch feedback loops) and continuously improve based on outcomes
  • Ensure solutions meet governance and control expectations (policy alignment, auditability, documentation, resiliency/stability) in partnership with risk/control stakeholders.
  • Conduct market/competitive research to identify opportunities and threats; shape product positioning and value propositions for our data governance capabilities
  • Promote the product's value proposition through communications, demos, and training artifacts; drive adoption and stakeholder advocacy across a matrixed environment (including migration/change activities as needed)
 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
  • 5+ years in product management/product ownership (or equivalent) delivering technology products in an Agile environment, including end-to-end lifecycle work (discovery, definition, build, launch, and iteration)
  • Strong experience in designing and leading structured discovery and user research (interviews/workshops, process mapping, journey definition), converting findings into clear problem statements, epics/user stories, acceptance criteria, and release-ready documentation.
  • 5+ years of experience managing data governance solutions for scalable metadata governance and enrichment, simplified access and policy workflows, and AI readiness supporting various platforms (such as Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS)
  • Proficiency in problem and solution framing; data analysis and transformation; working knowledge of Teradata, Snowflake, AWS, and DataBricks databases; and proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams on solution design and delivery execution.
  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative inputs to prioritize and measure success (e.g., SQL/Excel-based analysis, KPI/OKR definition, usage/adoption analytics, funnel or workflow cycle-time metrics)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to develop executive-ready narratives, facilitate working sessions, drive alignment across a matrixed organization, and manage stakeholder expectations through ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrated strength in voice-of-customer methods and product analytics (instrumentation, usage/adoption metrics), change management/enablement (comms, training, migrations/rollouts)
 Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
  • Experience delivering products in financial services or similarly regulated environments, partnering effectively with risk/control, privacy, and audit stakeholders. CDMP (or similar) and/or experience with industry-standard data governance/data management tools; comfort evaluating vendor vs. build approaches.
  • Experience working with publishers, data owners, and data stewards, as well as industry standard data management tools
  • Experience supporting AI readiness through scalable metadata governance and enrichment, simplified access and policy workflows. MBA or equivalent relevant professional experience (preferred fields include product management, information systems, computer science, or data analytics)
