To be successful as an Engineering Manager VP, you should have experience with:
• Act as a key contributor to technology strategy, roadmap planning and architectural decisions for Salesforce-led initiatives.
• Partner closely with Platform Architects, Product Owners and Business Stakeholders to translate business outcomes into scalable, secure Salesforce solutions.
• Own end-to-end delivery of Salesforce programmes, ensuring high-quality, resilient and performant solutions.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices including coding standards, CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing and release management.
• Drive continuous improvement through technical debt management, refactoring strategies and platform optimisation.
• Review solution designs and code to ensure compliance with security, performance, scalability and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Salesforce engineers, technical leads and administrators.
• Support hiring and onboarding of Salesforce talent aligned to long-term platform needs.
• Ensure Salesforce implementations comply with enterprise governance, data privacy, security and risk frameworks.
• Collaborate with Risk, Security and Compliance teams to address audits, controls, vulnerabilities and platform risks.
• Proactively identify and mitigate delivery, technical and operational risks.
• Serve as a trusted engineering partner to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating technical trade-offs and delivery status.
• Manage relationships with system integrators, Salesforce partners and vendors, ensuring quality and value for money.
• Contribute to vendor evaluations, solution assessments and contract governance from a technical perspective.
• Stay current with Salesforce releases and emerging capabilities, assessing relevance and adoption opportunities.
• Champion innovation through proofs of concept, accelerators and reusable assets.
• Drive adoption of modern Salesforce capabilities such as Flow, LWC, API-led integration, event-driven architecture and AI features where appropriate.
