We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr.Associate Director, Data and Analytics

In this role, you will:

  • Drive end-to-end accountability for Sub Value Stream (SVS) technology delivery across markets in a high-growth digital environment.
  • Lead cloud and data delivery on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), partnering with data engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure data pipelines/platform capabilities aligned to product outcomes.
  • Set up and manage Agile delivery across Technology, supporting design, requirements, build and testing for digital products and features.
  • Lead global teams (c. 100–120 FTE), using Agile methodologies and a DevOps approach with CI/CD.
  • Create and deploy products and features to relevant markets, tailoring delivery plans and packaging products to meet market needs.
  • Own the Technology Delivery roadmap, managing changes, priorities, dependencies, risks/issues and benefit realisation across the portfolio.
  • Agree key delivery metrics and establish dashboards to track planned vs actuals and productivity vs quality measures.
  • Maintain appropriate governance and control to ensure adherence to HSBC guidelines and prioritise the highest-impact change for customers and the bank.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong capability to build and implement strategies to solve ambiguous, customer-focused problems in a digital delivery environment.
  • Hands-on/working expertise in GCP and modern data engineering (e.g., data pipelines/ELT, orchestration, data quality/observability, security and controls), delivering cloud-native solutions at scale in regulated environments.
  • Proven experience translating customer needs from conception into delivery plans, priorities and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, global teams and remove delivery blockers and ambiguities to enable outcomes at pace.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery and DevOps practices, including operating within CI/CD frameworks and toolsets.
  • Experience influencing senior management and stakeholders on plans, commitments, scope, resources, quality assurance, budget and risk mitigation.
  • Strong governance and control mindset, including identifying risks, issues and interdependencies and putting effective mitigations in place.
  • Ability to manage and control costs/investments against budget while balancing time to market, operational robustness and customer experience.
