Job Description

We are looking for a Web Application Developer to support the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture's Inspections application by converting existing inspection forms into web-based solutions, developing database integrations, and supporting application enhancements. This position will be a full-time, 9-month contract and onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
 

What You'll Do

• Convert existing fillable PDF inspection documents into interactive HTML forms for data collection

• Develop JavaScript functionality that allows inspector-entered data to be stored in a SQL database

• Support the generation and storage of PDF documents using Jinja templates

• Develop and maintain application functionality that supports agricultural inspection workflows

• Collaborate with project stakeholders and development team members to support the replacement of the existing inspections platform

• Provide JavaScript development support to help maintain project timelines and deliverables

• Write, test, and troubleshoot application code to ensure reliable system performance

• Support database integration and data management activities

• Assist with application enhancements, defect resolution, and system improvements

• Participate in testing and validation efforts to ensure application functionality meets business requirements

• Document development processes, technical solutions, and application updates

What You'll Need

Required:

• Beginner to intermediate software development experience

• Experience with JavaScript development

• Experience working with SQL databases

• Experience developing with HTML

• Experience developing with CSS

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to learn new technologies and development tools quickly

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work onsite in Oklahoma City

Preferred:

• Experience with Python

• Experience with Jinja templates

• Experience with Docker

• Experience with Git and GitHub

• Experience developing web-based business applications

• Experience supporting database-driven applications

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$35 - $40 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
