To be successful in this role, you should have below skills:
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Understanding of accessibility requirements (e.g. WCAG), accessibility testing tools /techniques and of assistive technologies (including screen readers)
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve accessibility issues
Effective communication skills( both written and verbal). Can explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Some other highly valued skills may include below:
Experience of completing accessibility testing aligned to international WCAG 2.2 guidelines using manual and automated techniques for web and mobile.
understanding of accessibility and usability for people with a broad range of disabilities including familiarity with a wide range of assistive technologies
Familiarity with technology project lifecycles (e.g. Agile and Waterfall) and delivering change within these.
Experience in conducting accessibility training sessions to build empathy and/or teach technical concepts
Ability to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in digital accessibility.
