Job Summary

Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Documents all development activity. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and maintain code in accordance with software development best practices
• Participate in code reviews, unit test writing, and other code quality related activities
• Troubleshoot, inspect and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments
• Complete tasks as part of an agile team and adapt to dynamic business requirements
• Closely partner with other Software Engineers and Software Quality Engineers
• Actively participate in design discussions
• Effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have 5+ years of experience in the field 
• Must have experience working with large legacy Java codebases
• Must have experience building scalable, high-volume services and applications
• Must have hands-on experience with Java and REST based webservices
• Must have hands-on experience developing with databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL) 
• Must have demonstrable proficiency working on Linux servers
• Must be proficient working with GitHub and its capabilities of branching, tagging and GitHub 
Actions for build & deployment
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
