As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank , you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your teamâs work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the teamâs work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in Java Full Stack, cloud/Kubernetes, and microservices technologies.
Experience leading technology projects.
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
Practical cloud native experience.
- Deep expertise in core Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, messaging systems (MQ), Oracle, Postgres, Dapr, Flink, Kafka and Apache Iceberg.
- Proficient in UNIX, Apache Tomcat, and SQL; knowledge of Java Script framework is must.
- Proven experience in designing distributed applications and implementing Agile methodologies.
- Strong background in database management, web services, and Oracle (DB DDL, DML, stored procedures).
Experience with Selenium for test automation.
Demonstrated ability to debug complex systems and drive technical discussions independently.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Exposure to full software development lifecycle in large-scale systems, preferably within the financial industry.
- Financial industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
