The opportunity:

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our Dutch branch! In this role, you'll support the Underwriting Division with key administrative tasks, ensuring top-notch service and timely delivery.

Your new role

  • Support underwriting through general administration to ensure delivery of a professional service within agreed turnaround times.
  • Input data accurately on relevant internal and external systems to maintain correct and up to date information.
  • Prepare relevant reports and back up information to support the team to assist the business.
  • Develop good working relationships and ensure timely communication with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop effective underwriting and underwriting assistant process flows.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing 'best practice' and process improvements.
  • Participate in meetings across European branches to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes and self-learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver superior service standards as part of the extended service team.

About you

Preferred Competencies/Skills:

  • Insurance experience is not required; we welcome graduates and candidates from diverse backgrounds who bring strong transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Flexible approach and ability to recognise and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Good team player with the capability to work collaboratively and develop strong working relationships.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English is a requirement.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, able to prioritize.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Manage to work in multiple systems, comfortable working with both speed and accuracy.
  • Problem solving skills – demonstrates tenacity in handling and resolving queries.
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
