What We're Doing

We are seeking Systems Engineers – Integration and Test at the Senior and Staff levels to join our team in Owego, NY, supporting the integration, verification, validation, and certification of avionics subsystems for the military contract programs. In this role, you will help ensure hardware and software components function together as designed, requirements are fully verified, and system performance meets mission and certification objectives.

The Work

As a Systems Engineer focused on Integration and Test, you will support the planning, execution, and evaluation of system integration and verification activities throughout the product lifecycle. Working across software, hardware, and systems engineering teams, you will help identify issues early, validate technical solutions, and ensure requirements are successfully demonstrated through testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Support integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities for avionics subsystems

Develop test plans, test procedures, test cases, and test reports

Execute system, subsystem, and component-level integration testing

Verify system and software requirements through analysis, demonstration, inspection, and test

Develop and maintain requirements traceability from specification through verification

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware/software integration issues

Support lab testing, system bring-up, and performance validation activities

Analyze test results and document findings, discrepancies, and corrective actions

Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to ensure successful integration of mission capabilities

Support customer demonstrations, technical reviews, and certification efforts

Participate in planning activities to ensure technical, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved

Please Note:

This role is based in Owego, NY.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.

Basic Qualifications

Requires an engineering degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer engineering, or Computer Science, with 5 years of applicable experience in a related field or related Masters degree and 3+ years of experience.

Demonstrated experience reviewing, evaluating and deriving requirements for testability.

Experience developing and directing the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems for testing.

Demonstrated experience with requirements development, system design, problem analysis and resolution, and integration and test.

Desired Skills

Experience with test automation development in an Agile program environment

Demonstrated Leadership experience.

Demonstrated experience with having excellent communication skills for customer presentations, briefs and has worked in a team environment as part of a multi-disciplined team effort involving many customers and companies.

Demonstrated experience with requirements traceability, Integration and Test/Software Verification procedure development, and test development metrics.

Software Development experience.

Experience with data bus and ethernet standards, like MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and IEEE 802.3.

Experience with requirements tracking and bug tracking tools such as DOORs and JIRA.

Experience with instrumentation and data capture, like IRIG Chapter 10 data recorders, Wireshark.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
