The Role

We're looking for a Lead AI Engineer to drive Fever's company-wide AI transformation. This is a high-impact role for someone who can build and lead small, high-performance specialist teams that ship AI initiatives across large business domains — from business development and creative production to investment decisions, operations, and customer experience.

Your focus is applying AI to transform how the business operates. You'll stay at the cutting edge of AI technology being developed around the world and translate it into practical, high-leverage applications inside Fever — automating workflows, augmenting decision-making, and unlocking capabilities that weren't possible before. You'll partner with senior leaders across the company to identify the highest-leverage opportunities, assemble the right squad to tackle them, and deliver production-grade AI products that change how Fever operates at scale.

This role combines deep technical excellence, hands-on system design, team leadership, and strategic stakeholder management. You'll set the bar for what AI engineering looks like at Fever and shape how the company adopts AI across every function.

What you'll do

• Lead Fever's AI transformation across multiple business domains, identifying where AI can unlock the largest impact and shaping the roadmap to get there.
• Build and lead small, high-performance specialist teams — embedding with business stakeholders to ship AI products end-to-end, from problem framing to production.
• Design and ship advanced AI systems combining LLMs, agents, retrieval, and orchestration layers, optimized for real business outcomes rather than benchmarks — including high-volume, low-latency production workflows.
• Define best practices for AI engineering at Fever: evaluation, observability, cost control, prompt and model governance, safety, and long-term maintainability.
• Hire, mentor, and grow AI engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and high velocity.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across business domains, translating AI capabilities into concrete strategy and managing expectations on what's feasible, when, and at what cost.

What we're looking for

• Strong software engineering foundations with hands-on experience in Python, building scalable production systems (event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs, databases).
• Deep, hands-on experience designing and shipping AI systems in production — LLM applications, agentic workflows, RAG, fine-tuning, or orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, DSPy, or similar) — ideally having delivered something similar at another company.
• Solid grasp of the modern AI stack: foundation model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), vector databases, evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, and inference optimization. Comfortable with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability tooling for AI workloads.
• Strong product sense and stakeholder management skills — ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize ruthlessly for impact, and align engineering work with business goals.
• Track record of leading projects across multiple teams and of hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers.

Bonus points for

• Experience building agentic systems or AI-powered automation that replaces or augments human workflows at scale.
• Familiarity with the broader AI/ML platform ecosystem (LangSmith, Langfuse, Weights & Biases, MLFlow) and applied ML at scale (recommenders, ranking, search).
• Side projects, open-source contributions, or published work in applied AI.
