JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Associate, Card Payment Networks – Relationship Manager in the Card Payment Networks Team, you manage day-to-day network engagement and internal execution to keep priorities moving and risks contained. You synthesize complex network information into clear narratives for senior leadership, while coordinating cross-functional delivery across Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Operations. You own escalation intake and triage, connect business needs to partner actions, and maintain disciplined follow-through on commitments in the U.S. market.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing relationships with major card payment networks, including meeting cadence, agenda planning, and follow-up on partner commitments.

  • Triage network-related issues and escalations, rapidly synthesizing facts, impacts, and recommended actions for internal stakeholders.

  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery to execute network-driven initiatives and obligations across Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Operations.

  • Monitor network announcements, rules, mandates, standards, product enhancements, card benefits and operating changes; assess business impact and translate requirements into actionable internal plans.

  • Prepare clear written updates, executive-ready presentations, and Excel-based trackers that highlight priorities, risks, decisions needed, and timelines.

  • Support execution of agreements, including statements of work and amendments, in partnership with Corporate Development and Legal.

  • Communicate evolving legal and regulatory developments that could affect network relationships, translating implications into practical actions for stakeholders.

  • Represent the firm in partner meetings and, as appropriate, select industry forums to advance priorities and maintain alignment.

  • Maintain structured governance for relationship health, including issue logs, milestone tracking, decision records, and escalation pathways.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operating processes, reporting quality, and stakeholder transparency across network engagement and delivery.

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills

  • 5+ years of experience in payments, financial services, partnership management, product operations, or a related role with external counterpart engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, time-sensitive information into concise executive communications and escalation briefs.

  • Proven experience managing partner issues end-to-end, including triage, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined follow-through to closure.

  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills with the ability to drive outcomes across Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Operations.

  • Working knowledge of card payment network operating models, rules, and standards, and how they impact payment products and operations.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including building executive-ready decks and maintaining structured trackers and analyses.

  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a high-accountability environment.

  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfort engaging with senior internal stakeholders and external partners.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities & skills

  • Experience in a Card Payment Networks Office, payment partnerships, or network relationship management role within a large financial institution.

  • Experience leading executive governance routines (e.g., senior-level readouts, decision logs, escalation forums) for partner-dependent initiatives.

  • Ability to independently build stakeholder alignment in ambiguous situations and drive timely decisions.
