Job summary:

Provide a high-level overview of the role and its scope. 

Accountable for shaping and governing technology strategy across a regional portfolio, ensuring architecture decisions support business objectives, enterprise standards, scalability, resilience, and long-term value creation. Acts as a strategic advisor to Product, Engineering, and senior business leaders on technology direction, investment priorities, and transformation initiatives.

This role will be the primary architecture for the regions, while contributing to global architecture strategy through collaboration with fellow Enterprise Architects and domain experts. The role holder will Maintains broad oversight of the regional technology estate while providing recognised leadership in designated areas of specialist expertise where applicable.

 

Strategic Impact:

  • Define and maintain regional technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise architecture strategy and business objectives.

  • Lead architectural direction across multiple products, platforms, and business capabilities, ensuring alignment with the organisation's target-state architecture in their regions and platform. 

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, modernise, and rationalise technology landscapes across the region.

  • Delivery of robust, scalable, and aligned architecture supporting current and future business needs 

  • Quality and timeliness of architectural decisions, improving speed and clarity of delivery 

  • Simplification and modernisation of the technology landscape, reducing technical debt and improving maintainability.

  • Stakeholder satisfaction across business and technology leadership

  • Consistent on-time, in-budget delivery of architectural components and solutions

  • Experience operating in a commercially driven, outcome-focused environment, with a proven ability to balance business value, technology investment, risk, and long-term architectural sustainability.

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based, product-led digital business models, including the organisational, technical, and cultural enablers required to build and sustain high-performing teams. 

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to assess risk–reward trade-offs and collaborate with internal and external partners to design and operate integrated delivery models. 

  • Deep understanding of technical governance and risk management, including delegation, accountability frameworks, and decision-making models that enable effective delivery across multiple teams and platforms. 

  •  Knowledge of testing strategies and platforms, covering both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g. performance, scalability, security), ensuring solutions meet quality and reliability standards.

This role is an individual contributor role, however, it is key that the role holder provide leadership and direction through influence, coaching, and architectural governance across engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

What are the main responsibilities and specific duties of the role?

  • Own and govern the domain architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned to enterprise standards and organisational objectives. 

  • Lead technology decision-making, making recommendations on build, buy, and partner (lease) approaches to optimise value, cost, and long-term sustainability. 

  • Develop and maintain architectural blueprints (reference architectures) and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business strategy, product priorities, and target state architecture. 

  • Establish, evolve, and enforce domain-specific architecture standards, best practices, and design principles, ensuring consistency and quality of outcomes. 

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to delivery teams, holding them accountable for meeting defined functional and non-functional requirements aligned to product goals. 

  • Partner closely with Product and Technology leadership to ensure team capability and skills alignment to current and future product and platform requirements. 

  • Own and drive resolution of complex technical challenges, supporting teams through rapid prototyping and solution development to enable timely and effective delivery. 

  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrity, coordinating and assuring alignment to architectural designs and expected outcomes. 

  • Conduct architecture reviews and governance activities, ensuring adherence to standards, identifying risks, and driving continuous improvement across the domain. 

  • Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements, embedding these considerations into architectural design and delivery practices. 

  • Coach and enable teams to adopt innovative and creative approaches to problem-solving, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and forward-thinking design. 

  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, translating insights into actionable improvements to systems, architecture, and delivery methods. 

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across systems, processes, and architecture, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance performance and efficiency
