People Projects & Change Lead

Description

We are looking for a People Change Lead to drive the successful implementation, adoption and embedding of change across our People function and the wider business. In this key role, you will lead the delivery of change initiatives aligned to our People Plan and Heathrow’s strategic objectives, helping colleagues successfully navigate and adopt change.  

Reporting to and working closely with the People Change Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of change management activities for small and medium-sized people transformation initiatives. You will also support the development and execution of wider change strategies, helping to connect and coordinate initiatives to deliver successful outcomes for different colleague groups.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you build strong relationships within the People function, across various business areas, and with external partners. Working within a matrix structure, you will deliver impactful change initiatives that span all areas of Heathrow.  

Partnering with the Extended People Leadership Team (EPLT), Areas of Expertise, Strategic Business Partners and other stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in delivering critical change interventions that maximise business benefits and ensure investment is optimised. Your focus will be on driving engagement and supporting our vision to make Heathrow an extraordinary place to work.  

Responsibilities

• Delivering people transformation initiatives through the application of established change management approaches, ensuring alignment with strategic plans.
• Creating and executing strategies that boost colleague engagement, minimise resistance to change, and integrate communications and stakeholder management into all change delivery.
• Conducting impact assessments and readiness analyses to inform planning, as well as owning delivery of tailored change interventions such as communications, training, and engagement activities across relevant business areas.
• Providing regular updates on change activities, measuring effectiveness and outcomes, and continually seeking opportunities for improvement.
• Offering expertise in change and communications management, monitoring effectiveness, adjusting approaches based on feedback, and embedding lessons learned for ongoing improvement. 

Qualifications

• Previous experience of managing and delivering impactful change within a complex organisation.  
• Working knowledge of change management principles and tools, with the ability to apply these in a structured and pragmatic way.  
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience of presenting to and influencing senior management.  
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments with ambiguity, tight deadlines, and evolving priorities, with strong resilience and determination to succeed through challenges.  

Ideally you’ll also have:  

• A formal change management qualification, such as Prosci.  
• Experience supporting large-scale business transformation, organisational change, culture change, or colleague engagement programmes.
• Experience of working in and knowledge of the operation of People / HR functions.
