We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Applications Engineering team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Design, development, and delivery of modern full-stack applications using industry best practices and innovative technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, designers, and fellow engineers, to define, design, and implement new features that enhance user experience and improve system performance.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, helping to foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and engineering excellence.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and performant code through robust testing, debugging, and optimization practices.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions that shape the strategic direction of BNY’s technology solutions.
  • Stay informed on emerging industry trends, tools, and frameworks, and apply new technologies where appropriate to strengthen BNY’s engineering capabilities.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–9 years of relevant experience in software engineering, with strong hands-on full-stack development expertise.
  • Strong experience with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Strong back-end development experience using Java 17/21/Spring Boot.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices

  • Familiarity with cloud and container platforms such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and DevOps tooling.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, security, scalability, and performance engineering.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and development tools across front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build scalable, maintainable, and secure applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to approach challenges strategically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
