JOB DESCRIPTION

The My JPM Wealth Plan team develops industry-leading solutions that enable wealth management clients to understand how their wealth is doing and how they can achieve their goals through actionable plans and personalized support — with or without an advisor.

We serve clients across the Aspiring Affluent, Established, and High Net Worth segments, building fully integrated, seamless end-to-end experiences for both clients and advisors. Our strategy is centered on deepening engagement, increasing scale and profitability, attracting new clients, and driving advisor productivity.

As a Vice President Product Owner on the Wealth Plan Planning Engine team, you will serve as the subject matter expert for Wealth Plan's Planning Engine algorithm and logic. You will partner with cross-LoB stakeholders to innovate, deliver on the product roadmap, and bring deep expertise in financial planning and data modeling to drive meaningful results. You will also drive the integration of AI and LLM-powered capabilities into the planning experience, shaping how intelligent automation enhances client and advisor outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of JPMorgan Wealth Plan's Planning Engine algorithm and logic to support existing requirements and deliver the future product roadmap
  • Help validate, issue-spot, and debug Planning Engine outputs and results
  • Work closely with Product and Technology partners on pending enhancements, ensuring accurate implementation
  • Enhance existing documentation of algorithms and processes to institutionalize knowledge
  • Build and maintain expertise across core wealth planning domains: retirement planning, education funding, debt management, insurance planning, tax planning, and estate planning
  • Design and build Excel-based wireframe analytics as proof-of-concept for evolving Planning Engine features and other tools and calculators with cross-LoB implications
  • Generate insightful approaches to driving goals-based advice, aligning client and advisor experiences for superior outcomes
  • Proven use of AI-assisted tools for data exploration and analysis to support faster, evidence-based product decisions.
  • Define product requirements for LLM- and agentic AI-enabled planning workflows, including multi-step task design, tool/use-case selection, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints to ensure appropriate advisor and client oversight.
  • Use AI tools to synthesize qualitative research into structured themes, opportunity areas, and prioritization inputs that inform the planning engine roadmap.
  • Leverage AI tools to prototype planning concepts, user flows, and lightweight wireframes to validate ideas and accelerate iteration before committing engineering resources.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 6+ years of related experience with a degree in a quantitative discipline — accounting, finance, economics, engineering, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML technologies from a product perspective, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI patterns — with the ability to translate capabilities and constraints into clear product requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial/wealth projection, decision-making, and optimization techniques
  • Proven experience building Excel-based calculators and models, including VBA, macros, and add-ins
  • Strong grasp of (or ability to quickly develop expertise in) financial, retirement, charitable, tax, and estate planning strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and focused on efficiency and process improvement
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to credibly engage team members and stakeholders

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CFP or CFA certification highly preferred
