Duties: Create comprehensive solutions using domain-driven design principles for data movement and publishing features within the Data Pipeline product. Collaborate with cloud solutions and architectures on a public cloud platform. Break down legacy systems into new application architectures and maintain them. Engage with architects, system engineers, development, and testing teams to analyze initial requirements, system features, and define the scope for each iteration and the entire project. Develop tasks for the development and testing teams. Implement API service architectures and develop high-level designs to translate requirements into business processes. Conduct detailed design work for workflows, business rules, user interfaces, and reports. Perform unit and integration testing with development teams and collaborate with test teams to resolve product issues. Design and develop new systems with a focus on reducing maintenance needs, while also maintaining and enhancing existing systems. Work with end-users to design and implement new systems and troubleshoot existing ones. Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. Mentor new team members and lead knowledge transfer sessions about the applications and processes used by the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering (any), Mathematics, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Solution Designer, Application Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering (any), Mathematics, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Solution Designer, Application Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Deploying applications on the IBM WebSphere application platform for building, deploying, and managing enterprise applications; Using event-based systems including Kafka for real-time data exchange of information between applications; Working with JSON objects for data transfers to enable faster exchanges between relational and nonrelational data structures; Building software components for enterprise framework, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Apache Kafka, and JavaScript functionalities; Orchestrating large data sets using the Kubernetes platform and AWS Cloud Services; Developing Infrastructure-as Code (laC) using tools such as Terraform; Setting up CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Spinnaker. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Utilizing Unix OS for managing and operating multiple server environments, providing a stable and secure platform for applications to run upon; Supporting applications and systems that run on Windows-based environments, ensuring compatibility and integration; Using Agile SDLC; Applying Application Architecture Disciplines for designing robust, scalable, and maintainable software applications that meet business requirements; Applying Infrastructure Architecture Disciplines for planning and implementing the underlying infrastructure that supports application deployment and operations; Enabling the development of modular and independently deployable Microservices, improving scalability and maintainability; Deploying applications across environments using Docker; Using J2EE with Java to build enterprise- level applications in the finance industry with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security; Using Hibernate to simplify database interactions in Java applications through object-relational mapping to reduce boilerplate code; Developing interactive web applications for customer support specialists using JavaScript; SQL for managing relational databases, and for data retrieval and manipulation; Querying and managing relational databases for data retrieval and manipulation with SQL; Using XML to facilitate the data interchange between internal and external systems for configuration and data serialization; Using REST for stateless communication between clients and servers; Using SOAP to support legacy systems; Handling large volumes of data with high performance using Oracle and IBM DB2 database management systems including Oracle and IBM DB2; Using Splunk for data monitoring and alerting including searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine-generated data and aid in operational intelligence; Writing and running repeatable automation tests using the JUnit framework for Java; Testing software functions to requirements, validating the end-to-end functionality with functional testing; Automating repetitive test cases with Automation Testing to increase testing efficiency and coverage; Verifying interactions between integrated systems for applications using components, subcomponents, and co-suppliers ensuring they work together as expected.
