Every business's relationship with data will radically change once every decision-maker has all their data at their fingertips.
Fluent allows business leaders to get the answers they need from data by asking in plain English, freeing up data teams to focus on more important tasks.
We help our customers answer questions like:
“Which artists achieved more than 100 million streams over the last year?”
“How many donations did our charity receive last month?”
“Which of our customers are about to churn?”
We recently raised a $7.5M investment round and work with brands like Bain & Co., NBC Universal, and many other blue-chip companies.
We're a small team of elite builders aiming to revolutionise the business intelligence market.
We believe a small team of amazing people can outperform the average team of many. What sets us apart is not just what we do but how we do it.
Here's what makes our team a unique and rewarding place to work:
Self-driven: When we see a problem or something to improve we make it happen. We don't wait for permission or need to map out every possible edge case to do it.
Trusting and independent: We have the freedom to try things our way. We trust each other to do what works best for them and expect them to experiment with new tools and methods to maximise output.
Collaborative and supportive: When stuck, we're quick to support each other and draw out the problem on a whiteboard to resolve it. We are there as a sounding board whenever needed.
People who appreciate this working style will have the highest chance of success at Fluent. Please see our careers page for more about life at Fluent.
We're looking for a Founding AI Engineer passionate about using LLMs to solve real-world problems.
You will:
Work on our core product: Prompting LLMs to enable our customers to interact with their data through natural language.
Take ownership: Of features and changes end-to-end.
Enhance our user experience: making it easier for business users to glean insight from their data, enabling more natural follow-ups, better clarifications and digging into 'why'.
Enhance explainability: making Fluent more interpretable to data teams, answering “Why did Fluent give this answer?”.
And plenty more as we continue to learn from our customers.
Are driven: You want to achieve something spectacular and make an impact with your skills.
Can act autonomously: You'll take ownership of core components of our product, and you'll use your initiative to drive features over the line.
Are product-minded and user-focused: You're keen to deeply understand our customers and drive the direction of our product.
Have the LLM bug: You have experience building products using the latest LLMs and know what it takes to make them enterprise-ready.
Think from first principles: This is especially important when working with LLMs - there are no well-established best practices in the work we do: we're creating them.
Love the speed of startups: You are excited to work in a startup environment with quick product validation cycles. We're a small team that moves fast, so expect to ship features and major changes from day one.
Are action-biased: The most important thing for us is moving fast - often this means running quick-and-dirty experiments to test ideas.
Want to work in office: This is an in-person position in London at our office in Holborn.
Backend: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Render, AWS, OpenAI.
Frontend: Typescript, Next.js, Tailwind, Vercel.
This is primarily a backend position, but if you're keen to build our frontend too, great.
A competitive salary with pension.
A generous stock option package.
Weekly company-provided lunch, and meals after 19:30.
Fun and engaging office.
Working on an unsolved, massively valuable software problem with some of the best people you'll ever have worked with.
High-quality hardware.
Application: Send your CV and why you're interested in this role to careers@fluenthq.com.
Culture Fit Interview: We get back to you and set up a 30-minute video call with our team to go through your experience, our company, and our culture.
Technical Interview: If that goes well, we'll conduct a 90-minute technical assessment with Henry and Liam, our Lead Engineers, at our office in Holborn (we can accommodate timing around your current job). This assessment will focus on a real-world problem related to Fluent.
Trial Day Interview: A paid workday with Fluent: work with us on real problems for a day. You'll spend the morning working on a task, have lunch get to know the rest of the team, and then demo what you built in the afternoon. We pay £250 per day.
Offer: If that goes well, we'll make you an offer!
