Join Barclays as a Data Solution Designer, where you will play a key role in the strategic transformation of our data landscape as we migrate from legacy Teradata platforms to modern AWS cloud-based solutions. This is a business-facing role with a strong technical foundation, focused on analysing data requirements, designing scalable data solutions, and driving AI-enabled automation across the data engineering lifecycle. Working closely with data engineering, architecture, governance, and business stakeholders, you will help define data models, data quality standards, metadata, and DataOps capabilities that improve data usability, trust, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong data analytics background, coupled with a solid understanding of modern data architectures, cloud technologies, SQL and data querying concepts, and how systems and data platforms integrate within large-scale enterprise environments.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Experience in solution design and AI implementation, translating business requirements into scalable data and technology solutions using AI, automation and cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Data Product operating models and modern data strategies to enable scalable, trusted, and reusable data assets.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture and end-to-end data solution design.
  • Experience in data analytics and reporting, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights to support business decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across business and technology teams.
  • Experience in developing data visualisations and dashboards using Power BI and Tableau.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using JIRA.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience with SQL and data engineering platforms, enabling effective collaboration with technical teams and informed decision-making on data solutions.
  • Experience in project or product management across the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, prioritisation, planning, delivery and value realisation.
  • Knowledge of Teradata and data warehouse technologies.
  • Experience within Financial Services or a consulting environment, with an understanding of complex stakeholder landscapes, regulatory requirements and change delivery.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

The successful candidate will be based in London (Canary Wharf).
