Economic Crime Risk Manager - Product Review

Join us as an Economic Crime Risk Manager - Product Review colleague, where you will provide expert guidance to product teams and leadership on new product approvals, ensuring appropriate economic crime risk assessments and controls are embedded across Business Banking products. You will support effective product management by reviewing and challenging product proposals, overseeing the completion of governance artefacts and documentation, and ensuring robust control frameworks are in place to identify, mitigate, and monitor financial crime risks throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will provide oversight and assurance that products are launched and managed in line with regulatory requirements, risk factors, and business objectives.

To be successful as an Economic Crime Risk Manager - Product Review, you must have the following essential skills

• Considerable product management experience with the ability to provide expert advice and challenge on Business Banking products throughout the product lifecycle.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across diverse cross-functional teams and senior leadership groups.

• Comprehensive knowledge of UK financial crime legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices relating to Economic Crime and risk management.

Some other highly valued skills may include

• First-line Economic Crime experience, with an understanding in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial crime risks across business operations and products.

• Proven experience within the Financial Services sector, with a ample understanding of Business Banking products, customers, and associated risk frameworks.

• Exceptional influencing and execution capabilities, with a experience of driving outcomes and delivering strategic projects across complex cross-functional environments.

This role will be based in our London or Northampton office.

Purpose of the role

To support the Risk Function in delivering it’s objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.

Accountabilities

• Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes.
• Management of the risk department, including oversight of risk colleagues and their performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.
• Relationship management of risk stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third-party services.
• Adherence to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.
