Principal Analyst, Trust and Safety, Launch Governance Analyst, Frontier Safety

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. Launch Governance and Operations is a team within Google's Trust and Safety's (T and S) Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) pillars. Its mission is to ensure Google products are developed safely and responsibly by managing responsibility risks and governance for model and product launches.launch process.
In this role, you will be embedded within DeepMind (GDM), working directly with their Generative AI (GenAI) Safety teams and strengthening connectivity with Google T and S.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience with trust and safety.
• Experience with stakeholder management.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in relevant field.
• Education in, or experience with, machine learning.
• Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
• Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety.
• Experience working closely with policy teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement governance processes for new generative and agentic AI models and launches related to Frontier Safety.
• Act as a trusted partner to executive stakeholders, building strong relationships and providing clear, compelling communications on complex trust and safety issues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and research, to embed safety and trust-oriented processes and technologies directly into the model and product development lifecycle.
• Design and execute sophisticated data analysis to identify emerging risks, measure the effectiveness of our mitigations, and inform strategic decisions.
• Optimize and scale operational workflows, continuously seeking opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
