Are you an experimental scientist or engineer in inorganic materials, semiconductors, or superconductors, with deep hands-on lab and fabrication experience? Our client is building frontier AI systems for materials science, and is looking for domain experts to help ground those models in real scientific expertise. This is a hands-on role that blends your research and experimental depth with cutting-edge AI research — your expertise will directly shape how advanced models reason about materials, devices, and processes. * * * ### In this role, you'll: - Apply your domain expertise to design, review, and evaluate challenging scientific problems - Assess and improve AI-generated reasoning across synthesis, fabrication, and characterization - Help define and structure high-quality domain data that downstream models learn from - Collaborate with the research team to raise the scientific rigor of the models * * * ### You're a strong fit if you: - Have hands-on experimental experience in inorganic materials, semiconductors, or superconductors — **Must Have** - Bring depth in one or more of: inorganic synthesis (solid-state, solution, solvothermal, sol-gel), superconducting materials and thin-film growth (REBCO/HTS, MOCVD, sputtering, IBAD), or semiconductor materials and device fabrication (epitaxy/MBE, CVD, etch, clean-room microfabrication) - Have experience with materials or device characterization (XRD, SEM, TEM, spectroscopy, electrical/transport measurements) - Have experience with process development, optimization, or scale-up (nice to have) - Hold an advanced degree (PhD/MS) or equivalent hands-on experience in materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related engineering field - Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely ### Role Details: - **Commitment:** Up to 40 hours/week (minimum 10) - **Location:** US-based - **Collaboration:** You'll work directly with the client research team
