- Design and enhance the PNO control environment, including control rationalization, procedure updates, documentation improvements, and governance operating rhythms.
- Proactively identify control gaps and emerging risks across the payments lifecycle; perform root cause analysis and drive timely remediation to prevent broader operational impacts.
- Establish, monitor, and report PNO governance metrics/KPIs (e.g., control health, issue/action plan status, audit request status) and provide insights to support risk-based prioritization and decision-making.
- Lead audit and exam readiness activities for PNO, including evidence collection and validation, response coordination, deliverable tracking, and maintaining audit-ready artifacts (control narratives, procedures, process flows, evidence standards).
- Own end-to-end Issue and Action Plan management impacting PNO, including intake, documentation discipline, ownership alignment, milestone tracking, status reporting, and closure evidence.
- Drive control automation and efficiency improvements, including opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve monitoring, strengthen data quality, and standardize evidence collection.
- Engage and influence cross-functional partners (Risk, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, Audit) to align on control requirements and embed governance expectations into initiatives and ongoing operations.
-
Contribute to a culture of strong risk management, continuous improvement, and accountability across PNO programs.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience in governance, controls, audit, operational risk, or risk management within financial services and payments.

- Familiarity with risk and control frameworks and governance forums typical within large financial institutions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a blended role spanning control execution and control design/oversight, including ownership of control documentation and governance routines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex processes into risks, controls, and actionable remediation plans.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence across teams and levels with limited direct authority.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with control automation, metrics development, and data-driven monitoring/reporting.
- Audit readiness experience, including evidence collection/validation, documentation discipline, and stakeholder coordination under deadlines.
- Proven experience managing Issues and Action Plans end-to-end, with strong tracking, reporting, and closure rigor.
