Lead Analytics Tech Specialist

We're looking for a Lead Digital Analytics Technology Specialist to lead the technical side of our digital measurement capability across web and app. The role will lead how we implement and develop technologies including GA4, GTM, server-side measurement and app analytics, making sure our tracking is accurate, reliable and keeps pace with changes across our digital platforms.

A key part of the role will be working with Analytics, Product and Technology teams to turn measurement requirements into technical solutions, making sure technical dependencies are understood early and measurement is considered as part of wider digital change.

The role will also help shape where our measurement technology goes next, including server-side measurement, value-based bidding, first-party data and emerging measurement capabilities.

What you'll be doing: 
 

• Lead the technical delivery of digital measurement across web and app.
• Own and develop our GA4, GTM and server-side measurement implementations.
• Define technical measurement requirements for new projects and digital changes.
• Work closely with Product and Technology teams to make sure measurement requirements are considered as part of development.
• Work with Architecture and Infrastructure where measurement has wider technical dependencies.
• Lead technical measurement across areas including server-side tracking, app measurement and value-based bidding.
• Make sure tracking is tested, monitored and working as expected.
• Investigate complex tracking and data quality issues and work with the relevant teams to resolve them.
• Work with Google and specialist partners on new measurement capabilities and technical development.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate how we implement and manage measurement.
• Lead and support the development of the wider Analytics Technology team.

What you'll have: 
 

Essential:
 

• Strong experience in digital analytics implementation across web and/or app.
• Advanced knowledge of GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
• Strong JavaScript knowledge and experience implementing custom tracking.
• Strong understanding of data layers, event-based tracking and measurement design.  
• Experience with server-side tracking and modern measurement approaches.
• Strong experience testing, debugging and troubleshooting analytics implementations.
• Good understanding of consent, privacy and first-party measurement.
• Experience working with developers and translating measurement requirements into technical solutions.

Desired:
 

• Experience with server-side Google Tag Manager.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Firebase and mobile app measurement.
• Knowledge of BigQuery and SQL.
• Experience with APIs and data integrations.
• Experience with value-based bidding or conversion value enrichment.
• Knowledge of Adobe measurement technologies.
• Exposure to automated testing and deployment processes.
