Maximo Data & Support Analyst
Defence, DMS NG (Maritime Services) | Serco UK
Home-based hybrid with ad-hoc travel | Full time, permanent | Band 6 | Start date: as soon as possible
About the role
Serco is looking for a Maximo Data & Support Analyst to join the team supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9) on the DMS NG contract. The system is now live, and this is a newly shaped role that replaces a pair of fixed term positions that supported the legacy setup. You would help build a dependable Maximo service from the ground up.
You would work directly alongside our Maximo Developer and be the person engineering and operations teams go to for day-to-day support and data quality, so they can trust the data they use to plan, deliver and record their work.
What you will do
- Act as first point of contact for Maximo support requests, triaging by priority and impact
- Process and validate data amendments across assets, locations, job plans and work orders, in line with change control
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, and escalate complex configuration issues where needed
- Carry out routine housekeeping, including user access checks and monitoring of scheduled jobs
- Find the root causes of poor data and put corrective and preventative actions in place
- Support front-line Maximo development work and deputise for the Maximo Developer when required
- Lead on audit requests and keep clear records of amendments, decisions and resolutions
- Train and guide users, and document workflows and processes
What you will bring
- Experience administering data within an asset or work management system, ideally IBM Maximo
- A good understanding of how asset, location, work order and job plan data fit together
- Confidence using SQL or similar tools to query and validate data
- A calm, methodical approach and a sharp eye for detail, in a varied and sometimes time-sensitive workload
- Clear communication, including explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues
Backgrounds we will consider
Maximo development experience, such as automation scripts, integrations or reporting, would be a real advantage. Strong Maximo front-end or data experience without development is also a good fit, and we can teach the rest. We will also consider people from another asset management system such as SAP PM, IFS or Infor EAM, or from a wider IT and database background.
Desirable
- Experience of IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9)
- Experience in an asset-intensive sector such as defence, maritime, utilities or rail
- Familiarity with change control or governance in a system administration context
- Living near one of our UK naval bases (useful, not essential)
Working pattern
Home-based, with ad-hoc travel when required. There is no out-of-hours or on-call expectation.
Eligibility and security
You must have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available. You must be able to complete BPSS security screening. Eligibility for SC clearance would be an advantage.
What we offer
6% pension, flexible working considered, role-specific training and career development, wellbeing support including an Employee Assistance Programme, and Serco staff discounts. Serco is a Disability Confident Leader and offers a Guaranteed Interview Scheme to eligible applicants.
